About the Artist |
|
| |
kumari
is a conceptual artist, based in Singapore, who has built an artistic
practice over more than twenty years. She has created an extensive body
of works, including paintings, sculptures and installations, which have
been exhibited in Asia, Europe and the United States. kumari has collected many accolades as an
artist. She was the recipient of the United Overseas Bank Painting of
the Year Award in 1998, and was the first woman and foreigner to be
awarded the Ksatria Seni Award in 2004 by the prestigious Museum Rudana
in Ubud, Bali. In 2011, Kumari was named the Sculptor of the Year at
the 15th edition of the Shanghai Art Fair 2011.
The
works of kumari aredesirable and sought after. She is noted for her
signature, monumental and iconic public sculptures at prominent
locations in Singapore and around the region, which have
beencommissioned by museums and galleries, curators, property
developers and private collectors. |
